HP: Pen-based PDA market to evaporate in four years
Vikas Shekhawat | Mar 2 2006

The pace with which the technology is changing, it’ll definitely engulf the existing machines, giving way to new and enhanced versions again to be taken over by the fresh one. And Hewlett-Packard (HP) seems to be bitten by the technological evolutionary bug and is definitely worrying about its iPaq rw6800 to go down.

As per HP, the pen-based PDA market will lose ground in front of new innovations and changing demand of the consumers and hence is planning to focus on converged smart phone devices to combat the competition. HP says, ‘the pen-based handheld market is shrinking at a rate of 30 percent year-on-year.” Seeing this HP is really making a smart move to shift as per the requirements and technological upsurge.
