To train individuals against road safety and provide insights into driver behavior, the Queensland University of Technology has installed a high-tech driving simulator - The Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety. The CARRS-Q is an advanced driving simulator that’s first of its kind to display the difference between control on road and fatal tragedy. The simulator which simulates driving at speed under different conditions is being used by the researchers to study dangerous driver behavior. Fitted with eight computers, projectors and a six degree of freedom motion platform that’s capable of moving in 3D, the CARRS-Q provides the driver with a perfect real-like driving environment that brings about the drivers instinctive behavior in the given condition, and thus helps researchers to plan out solution against them to avoid accidents and add to safety on road.
