HD DVD jumps to 51GB with Triple Layer disc

Inspired with the currently promoted 50GB Blu-ray movies, Toshiba, with the release of its triple-layer 51GB HD DVD disc, is all set to narrow the difference between the popularBlu-ray and HD DVD formats.

The new disc will enable the HD to raise its under-par capacity to the level of Blu-ray, doesn’t matter if it takes three layers to do so. But the main concern is upcoming Blu-ray 200GB (8 layers) memory format that will create a big difference between the HD DVD and Blu-ray.
