The International Robot Expo has just concluded, but we still have unexpected things erupting out of Japan’s much-celebrated event. We’ve seen humans fighting, robots squaring off with each other, but to the surprise of many like me, it’s the first time I’ve seen two Gundams taking on each other in a battle for supremacy, and this is out of the IREx too. Controlled remotely, the gladiator Gundams have been placed in a mismatch of sorts. The comparatively smaller Gundam is brutally manhandled by the bigger opponent; right from the first attack that sees the former’s head ripped off in a single blow. But by exploiting the bigger foe’s Achilles’ heel, the smaller Gundam justifies the words: never count your opponent out before he’s dead.
