G-speak is the ‘Minority Report’ style OS we always wanted
Bharat | Nov 15 2008

We’ve seen a range of jaw-dropping models of interactive displays, yet we long to see some more. Since we saw the Spielberg-directed Minority Report, wherein Tom Cruise and the other cops interacted with the glass displays with finger movements, we have been waiting for some technology of the like to make the main fray, out of the screens into reality someday. Finally we have a reason to believe we are there. Check out the video after the jump and you will know why. Oblong Industries has taken the lead from the movie, in assistance with a science advisor from Speilberg’s crew (also a company creator), to develop a gesture reading interface, which would be similar to the one seen in the flick. Christened the G-speak, the spatial operating system is a gesture-based interface with recombinant networking and real-world pixels.
