Folding City Car: Future of Automobiles?
Nishant | Mar 10 2008

Parking problems is what haunts everyone these days, there are no parking spaces in Mall’s on even normal days and it gets worst during some massive sale. Scientists at Massachusetts Institute of Technology have now got a solution to that, they have developed a vehicle that can fold it self while parking. Scientists have put up small model of this new car at the campus museum and there are plans to build a full-scale model by this spring. Engineers and architects involved in development of this car are confident that their full-scale model will be just like their virtual work. Franco Vairani, designer of the foldable frame says that it’s not a car but it’s a virtual computer on wheels and that this car can easily fit itself in eighth the space required to park an average car.

No doubt that this will be one of the revolutionary technologies but it’s yet to be seen if their virtual model can be implemented on full-scale car efficiently or not. Hopefully these cars will be reasonably priced as there’s no point in rolling out a ‘City Car’ that will be like a dream for a normal man.
