First woman armed with thought-controlled bionic arm reaches for life!
Vikas Shekhawat | Sep 15 2006

Apparently, when we can make machines to function on our behest outside the realm of our body, why not within it? Claudia Mitchell’s gets a rebirth as she becomes the first woman, and the fourth human, to arm herself with the ultimate thought-controlled bionic arm, a brainchild of physicians and engineers at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

Now, she just has to think of the apple lying on her table and the arm will automatically grab it for a byte by detecting the signals fetched by the device sensors from chest nerves. Although, the arm is still devoid of any feelings, she is expecting to get even that in the future allowing her to grasp things naturally with ease.
