Ferrari’s new F1 simulator delivers real track experience

It isn’t really feasible enough to simulate the F1 experience, that scorching driving feel of the real track. But Ferrari has been on the hock to create something useful to help train their drivers, and for that the manufacturer’s upped the tempo with the reveal of it’s latest and by far the definitive F1 simulator.

The new F1 simulator readied in aluminum parts and composite structures by the Ferrari’s F1 team would definitely raise the bar for gamers and would best help Ferrarri driver’s train for the competitive races. The entire structure is stuffed in with ten multiprocessors with 60 GB of RAM, five giant 3D video screens, a 3500 watt Dolby sound system and a control room in the cockpit.

It weighs two hundred tons and measures eight meters in width and length and six meters in height. Ferrari’s CEO Andrea Bertolini, who worked with the Ferrari engineers on the development of the project, drove the first virtual laps at the wheel of the simulator.
