
Fujitsu developed the Separate Keitai F-04B in October last year, and exhibited the same at the CEATEC JAPAN 2008, now it is NTT DoCoMo that in collaboration has officially announced the modular handset. The peculiarity of the handset is its detachable make; the unit can be separated into a display and a keyboard. The separate units are made to communicate data with each other via Bluetooth, and the F-04B’s keyboard can be used for QWERTY style typing.
The3.4-inch LCD display contains the main board, communication chip and the application processor of the handset. The LCD panel is touchscreen, therefore allows the user make call, send email etc sans the keyboard, while the keyboard unit separately can be used as a microphone, a speaker and a Bluetooth keyboard.
Besides the aforementioned traits, the phone also makes provision for a Pico-Projector. It is a DPL projector about 800mAh battery capacity, 854 x 480 (equivalent to WVGA) resolutions and about 6lm of luminance. The F-04B itself is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of about 800mAh. The two units of the phone have to be combined while charging, There is no word on the price yet, but it is an appealing phone.
