Computerized Cuisine: Serving you food on a robotic platform
Sameer Kumar | Nov 30 -0001

It might be still a long, long way away before we actually get to the point where we will be having our dinner on that big date in a completely mechanized restaurant, but that future seems to be getting closer with these robotic tables invented by the Japanese. While we may not have the complete details of the tables and how they are driven, it is safe to assume that they are controlled by a remote for now. The tables seem to be able to serve your food to wherever you sit and move around using an “inverted pendulum” for balancing.

They still look not very capable and are surely no fancy humanoid robots with a smiling face and arms and legs. But who needs all that when all you need to have your lunch is a moving table that brings your food to you?
