CES 2008: iRiver's GSM prototype, inspired by iPhone
Gagandeep | Jan 9 2008

iRiver has unveiled its new GSM prototype at the CES. Not christened as yet, but rumor has it that the interface is quite similar to Apple’s iPhone. The 3-inch touch-screen that this thing carries around boasts of a resolution of 480 X 272.

The cell phone doesn’t have a keypad giving rise to the rumors, which are somewhat justified. A 4GB of built in memory, a 2megapixel camera, WiFi and GPS are some specs that we do expect. But amidst all the copying (?) we do expect a change since, unlike the iPhone, iRiver’s phone is expected to come unlocked for GSM network. Expect this one somewhere later this year.
