Ravi | Oct 5 2006

CEATEC 2006 Tokyo has become the platform for many new revelations; the TDK’s mini Blu-ray discs is such a disclosure. These mini BD-R and BD-RE discs are in development stage but are soon expected to go for commercialization. The mini discs will be used in future High-Definition camcorders which support Blu-Ray media.

The disc is just 8 cms in diameter thus naturally will be reduced in capacity that is 16.5GB from normal 25GB single layer discs. However, the possibility is open for the dual-layer mini Blu-ray discs, which will possess 33GB of storage capacity.
