Between Blinks & Buttons networks what happened in the world when you clicked a photo
Bharat | Dec 28 2009

Developed by Sascha Pohflepp as a diploma thesis in Visual Communication at Berlin University of Arts, Between Blinks & Buttons is a compilation of two projects, where Blinks is a prism designed to reflect ray of time running through a photo into all moments that were captured at that time, while Buttons is a camera to shoot those photos.

Using the camera as a networked object, individuals by making their photos public on the internet create traces of themselves. Thus, the image captured by the camera which creates references that’s beyond the photo itself, contains a host of information about the context of its creation. This information helps to link the photo to precise moments in time when it was taken, making possible to see what happened simultaneously in the world when the photo was clicked. I’am not sure about the potential applications of Between Blinks & Buttons, but the project in entirety looks impressive.
