Rumors are eternal – therefore when everything has to meet its fate, one thing that never seems to die is a rumor. Living to the conformity, we have another, on the availability and release of the PlayStation Portable 2, but how far definite, we have no claims yet. Coming from developer David Perry’s message on Facebook and Twitter, Sony could finally have the PSP 2 sans the high battery-consuming UMD disc drive made available by this fall. Wonder if the new gaming device would be backward compatible, i.e. allowing input from the older version, or would it require downloads through the PlayStation Network store, but the introduction of flash memory storage instead of the optical drive sure seems a logical pick for a PSP of the next gen.
