Aroma emitting Kaoru Digital Signage

What could be the most effective and vibrant advertising tool to lure the customers than NTT’s forthcoming aroma-emitting digital signage, dubbed the Kaoru Digital Signage. It will first appear near Kirin City Beer Hall on October 21 giving you smells of orange and lemon and videos of foaming jugs of beer.

The aroma-emitting Kaoru Digital Signage system is based on web technology. The aromas are produced by a computer-controlled device that operates as per the instructions set by the internet.

The signage comes with a 30 x 50 x 15 centimeter aroma diffuser, a 19-inch display and an NTT Spot Media content receiver.

NTT has decided to test several scents at different times of day and compare their effects when the aroma-generation equipment is switched off. The trial will continue for two months. During lunch time, the smells of oranges and lemons will be tested and in the dinner time, woody smell will be put in order. The smell will pervade an area around 5 meters from the diffuser.
