ArcherMind shows first Android-based car navigation system
Bharat | Nov 21 2009

ArcherMind in collaboration with Chinese hardware makers has developed the first in-car navigation system based on the Google’s Android operating system. Embedded with Marvell Technology Group Ltd’s ARM core processor, this system was exhibited at the Embedded Technology 2009 in Japan.

Besides Android as a novelty, the other exciting aspect of this car navigation system is its make which makes it a good induction into the dashboard of a low-priced vehicle. Featuring a 800 x 480 resolution 7-inch screen, the navigation system allows the user to surf the web, write and receive SMSs and to play out audio books. Using 3G Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connectivity the system also features a hard disk drive, an SD card slot for storage.
