The reaction after the recent anti-Mac ads has been mind boggling for Microsoft. Never in their wildest dreams they could have expected such an outcome. Students, workers, and even the housewives have been sending emails to the Microsoft. The queue outside the Microsoft office in Washington has been turning into mob from last two days. Everyone is demanding that Microsoft should also include them into their “practical” advertisement.
The recession has forced people, directly or indirectly, to lie on record in lieu of some thousand dollars from the worst corporate-dictator on the face of earth.
One among the crowd, a student who wishes to unnamed and un-photographed before he is paid to do so, tells why he is doing such a thing, which he abhors so much. According to him through the money he will be paid he can easily pay for his college fee and can work on his ambition: making an open-source software which is going to wipe out Microsoft from the face of earth.
Another one, who is programmer and also wishes to be anonymous for the time being, says that he can use the money and “pc” computer in productive ways. “PC” an be used in keeping a tab on the viruses, so that he can work on writing software’s which are safe and easy to use. Also with the money he plans to buy the latest iMac, which is out of his budget for now, but he is sure with his work he can easily afford later on all his preferred iMac’s without compromising his feelings.
The normal feeling among the crowd was like Galileo who decided to recant his heliocentrism under the Church pressure, but only because he knew that if he lived he can use his time more productively and in the cause of betterment of science and knowledge.
And all the people out there showed their sympathy with the previous models in the advertisements, and said that they can fully understand their feelings as because of the present situation which has been bought because of greed and short-sightedness, they themselves have no better option but to compromise for the time-being.
