AMD's next-gen Eyefinity graphic cards control six screens at one time
Bharat | Sep 11 2009

We’re accustomed to using multiple computers hocked to a single PC, they are perfect standbys when can cannot have wide screen HD LCD at home. What’s annoying though is that those monitors are recognized as independent displays, but with the recently introduced graphics technology from AMD these displays can be arranged in a single group thus be treated as a single display.

Dubbed the Eyefinity coming for the next gen of ATI Radeons, is a new 40-nm graphics chip that contains 2 billion transistors, capable of 2.5 trillion calculations per second and is therefore able to sport between 3 and 6 display outputs of various types, DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, etc. The card is good to produce268 megapixel images (gamers you’re listening right). There’s nothing we have on the price or availability but we hear Acer, Dell, HP, MSI and Toshiba already have Eyefinity notebooks in the pipeline. So, we aren’t far from the future.
