Alcohol-powered bionic muscles are 100 times stronger than yours
Vikas Shekhawat | May 17 2006

Alcohol and muscles don’t go hand in hand, but the new bionic muscles are surprisingly powered by alcohol and are ready to trigger a whole new reign with 100 times more strength than yours.

The ground-breaking robotic arm is always on a high with artificial muscles infused with alcohol and carved out of elastic metal dubbed as ’shape memory wire’ for normal expansion and contraction. It works similar to human muscles powered by chemical energy, drawing power from alcohol in this case. Ray Baughman, the brain behind the concept, promises the use of these powerful bionic muscles in plethora of applications ranging from medicine and defense in the future.
