A rookie Robot that can ski and provide experimental results
Vineet Chauhan | Jul 22 2009

Skiing is a very hectic sport, don’t believe me, then go and ask the robot who’s just started. Scientists from Kanazawa University in Japan have built a robot that can ski and using it to study the kinematics involved in the sport. It has always been difficult for scientists to exactly predict the influence of balance, posture, limbs, joints and skis using just computer models. This bot has been able to provide the researchers with the desired results by testing a bunch of different combinations dynamically. It will basically give the info effects of joint motions on ski turns. This bot is not a “pro” yet, but was able to ski down a 11 meter long, 20 degree grass slope. That’s good for a rookie.
