3D movies to seize theaters soon... along with you

Yes, yes, yes, we’ll love 3D. I still remember my first tryst with a 3D movie which was ‘Space Station’ narrated by Tom Cruise, and I wonder why 2D movies even exist. Anyhow, the dream will soon come true with James Cameron soon releasing 3D versions of his marvels ‘Titanic’ and ‘Terminator 2′, as declared by the master director during the National Association of Broadcasters’ Digital Cinema Summit.

Cameron has several 3D IMAX documentaries in hand which he made along with The Walt Disney Co. and two full length 3D movies including ‘Battle Angel’ and ‘Project 880′ too are in progress.

Cameron said:

We’re halfway through the looking glass. We’re past the point where the fear of change is outweighed by the fear of not changing.

Cinema does need a change and emergence of latest technologies in the field of movie making has given ample opportunity and impetus to the makers to experiment and bring out something novel. Though the cost of making a 3D movie is almost double, compared to a 2D movie, but its captivating effect, no doubt, will take movie buffs by storm thereby balancing the act. Also, when there is impeccable quality, viewers can’t shun it for prices particularly when ‘King Kong’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy too are in the offing.
