150 million carbon nanotubes make Nanobama
Bharat | Nov 5 2008

Barack Obama has his name engraved in history, post the emphatic victory. The newly elected President of America also has his name engraved on nanotubes. Nanomaterial has been put to various uses and has helped build useful electronics. Here is what new can be done with these tubes - sculpted using nanolithography, pictured above, are images of Obama’s face made out in about 150 million small carbon nanotubes by John Hart, a mechanical engineer at the University of Michigan. Creative people have inventive genius, and this work of minuscule authenticity bringing about a unique commercial application is splendid, more so when it reads “vote for science” – in a country where the foci read Vote for Obama. For more Obama fanatics Hart has a 20 more images of Obama’s face on Flickr.
